Glass jars are great for storage as children can see what is inside, such as pom poms, sequins, pop sticks, or if you take off the lid then to can store brushes, pencils or markers, scissors. You can also paint the jars with glass paint, remove the lid and add a tea light for that homely feel. Use blackboard paint so you can write a label using chalk to say what is inside the jar, a message or write someones name. The bigger size of the glass jars can be quickly made into a lovely centre piece. Children can add items into the glass jar such as sand, shells, pictures or anything to compliment the theme. Then simply add to the centre of the table for everyone to admire. These themes can be changed weekly for a classroom craft project. Another craft idea for glass jars is by wrapping a nice thin or thick piece of lovely paper around the glass jar using a good glue to hold it in place. Then tie some jute twine around the centre of the paper with a lovely big bow on one side. Children could then add a lovely gift card to the side to personalise the glass jar. This could then be used as a present by adding some cookies to the jar. There are many options for a glass jar. Children will enjoy filling them, decorating them, giving as presents or using the glass jar as a conversations.
