Details

This Stained Glass Rainbow Serpent craft features the bespoke design of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contemporary artist Luke Mallie. Utilising the vacant space of the black cardboard, the Stained Glass Rainbow Serpent™ works fantastically with under layering cellophane and/or tissue paper. Use as an exquisite display piece on windows and around classrooms to show off colourful creations or place on top of drawings/painting to act as a frame, contrasting against the artwork.

This Stained Glass Rainbow Serpent includes 100 sheets of 5 colours of cellophane Red, Orange, Yellow, Green & Blue (10x10cm), 40 pieces of black card snake  250(L) x 234(W)mm and 20 pieces of black ribbon

TIP: Glue down coloured cellophane (included in the pack) over one of the serpent designs, then using another glue on the back to make for a neat and sturdy craft for hanging. These look great when the light hits them and allow the children to use various colours to make them stand out.

The rainbow serpent is a symbol from Ancient Australian culture and remains strong today. Its curved imagery symbolises the cycle of seasons and its connection to nature, water and spirit. Teach and learn about the importance of growth and regeneration, which the Rainbow Serpent signifies in aboriginal Dreamtime stories.
